Robinson Chooses Sooners

Salem (N.J.) linebacker Lamont Robinson announced today, choosing the University of Oklahoma over Georgia, Virginia, Iowa and West Virginia. Robinson announced for the Sooners at a 2:00 pm press conference.

“After much deliberation and decision-making, I have decided to further my education and study Communications while playing football at the University of Oklahoma,” Robinson said at his press conference.

Robinson’s decision appears to have been between two schools – Oklahoma and Georgia.

“It was a real tough decision between Georgia and Oklahoma,” Robinson said. “They are both great schools. They both offered me a great opportunity that no other schools could offer. I prayed a lot to make the decision painfully obvious to me. When I made my decision, I told my grandfather about it. He agreed with it and that was it.”

Robinson committed to UVa last June before deciding to re-open his recruitment in late November. He made official visits to Georgia, Ohio State and Oklahoma. He has cancelled a previously scheduled official visit with Virginia.
