6-2, 183-pound Spartanburg High School (SC) star Justin Sams is hearing from 4 schools at this point in his recruiting process. None have offered an official scholarship yet, however Sams is hoping all that is about to change as he makes several visits this month.

“Right now, I’m talking to Virginia, Tennessee, Wofford and Coastal Carolina,” Sams said. “This week, I go to Coastal Carolina for an official visit. The last weekend in January I’m going to UVa to visit. I can set a visit to Wofford any time I want really because it’s 5 minutes away. I haven’t decided on Tennessee yet.”

At this point, UVa is recruiting Sams for a recruited walk-on position. He is hoping for a scholarship offer.

“I’m definitely excited to go there for an official visit,” Sams said of UVa. “I’m hoping they offer because I’d really want to play there. Right now, they are saying I could earn a scholarship by the second semester if I come out and win the job. I have to help out my parents here though, because UVa is very expensive. I may just have to go wherever I can get a scholarship.”
