2006 Class: Perez Has Over 30 Offers

Woodrow Wilson (Camden, N.J.) athlete Antwine Perez is becoming one of the most highly recruited prospects not only in the state of New Jersey, but on a national level for the 2006 recruiting class. The 6-2, 200-pound “athlete” recruit has seen his Division 1-A scholarship total increase significantly this year, with many of these offers coming from some of the top programs in the country.

“I have over 30 offers,” Perez said.

There is good reason for the amount of early offers. Woodrow Wilson head coach Mike McBride, who has produced some excellent players throughout the years, recognizes his star’s football savvy and size.

“His knowledge and his ability in the game, and just how big he is,” McBride replied when asked what Antwine’s strengths are. Perez plays quarterback and safety for coach McBride. He’s 6-2, 200 pounds, so he’s a big, big kid. Some schools think he could grow into a weak-side linebacker on the next level. I had [former Syracuse and current Jacksonville Jaguars safety] Donovin Darius, and he plays the game in a similar way. On the highlight film, I won’t have to tell you who Antwine Perez is because he’ll jump out at you.”
