Top PA QB Working Towards Summer Decision

Eyeing a commitment before the start of his senior season, Downingtown East’s (Exton, PA) outstanding quarterback Pat Devlin is ahead of the game in terms of communication with coaches and researching schools. “I talk to a bunch of coaches on the phone,” said Devlin, who has spoken several times with UVa quarterbacks coach Mike Groh.

“I talk to Mike Groh on the phone,” Devlin said. “I feel like I’ve gotten to know him well. I just call and talk about what’s going on. We talked about spring practices last time I guess. I just checked up to see how that’s going and how the quarterbacks are doing.”

Devlin visited Charlottesville earlier this spring to get an up close look at a practice. “It was good,” Devlin said of the experience. “I got a little sunburned while I was down there (laughs), but it was a good time.”

Since late February, Devlin has seen his offer list increase from four to 14. “I have offers from N.C. State, Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia, Pitt, Syracuse, North Carolina, Miami, Akron, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Mississippi and Oregon,” Devlin said.
