Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) defensive end/tight end Sean Gottschalk enjoyed a breakout season as a junior last year, making 56 tackles with six sacks and earning second-team all-district honors. Of Gottschalk’s junior year performance, Deep Run head coach Lenny Pritchard said “about halfway through the year he just came into his own…that’s the best way to say it. He turned into a really good football player.”

Gottschalk stands 6-5 and weighs 250 pounds. On film, he shows good ability both against the run and as a pass rusher. Offensively, he is a solid receiver who made 10 catches last season for 96 yards. Gottschalk looks forward to carrying the momentum from last year into his senior season – which he expects to be a very productive one.

After taking a look at junior season video, seven schools have officially offered. They include Boston College, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
