Gateway (Monroeville, PA) 6-0, 180-pound athlete Aaron Smith believes one ACC school stands out in terms of how they are conducting their recruitment. Smith currently holds close to 10 scholarship offers, including one from the University of Virginia, and has had many Division 1-A coaches stop by his school this month.

“[The coach] from Maryland is doing a real good job,” Smith said. “He’s just being straight up and real with me about everything.”

When asked if the impression Maryland has left on him makes them the current favorite, Smith replied “no, they’re not really a favorite. I don’t really have a favorite right now. It’s just, that’s who is recruiting me the hardest right now.”

“Pitt, Penn State, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Tennessee” are Smith’s top six schools right now. Of the six, four have extended official scholarship offers.
