Inside linebacker is a key need for UVa in the 2006 recruiting class and the ‘Hoos are trying to dip into one of Pennsylvania’s top high school football programs to help fill it. UVa has offered Greg Webster , a 6-2, 225-pound prospect who plays inside linebacker for head coach George Novak.

“Greg’s 6-2, 225, and this will be his fourth year on the varsity team,” said Novak, who is in his 18th year as Woodland Hills head coach. WHHS has produced 63 Division 1-A football players including five who are currently on NFL rosters. “He was our leading tackler last year with 124 tackles. He was the Pittsburgh East defensive player of the year last year.

“He also plays tight end and is on special teams. He’s our team leader also. He’s our motivator.”

Webster moved to inside linebacker last season after playing defensive end in his ninth and tenth grade seasons. He obviously adapted well to the position.
