Spencer Has Two Offers, One Leader

North Brunswick (Leland, NC) wide receiver Owen Spencer enjoyed a breakout junior season last year. The 6-4, 170-pound prospect made 31 receptions for 802 yards and 13 touchdowns, helping his team to a 10-2 record. Spencer’s ability has drawn the attention of ACC and SEC programs, with two schools having offered the rising talent.

“N.C. State has offered him,” North Brunswick head coach Gary Bishop said. “They told me at Virginia Tech that they would offer him. Clemson said they were going to heavily recruit him. North Carolina and Virginia are interested. East Carolina is recruiting him.”

Auburn and Tennessee are showing interest as well and may be close to offering according to Spencer. Right now, N.C. State is the clear leader for his signature.

“That’s a great school,” Spencer said of N.C. State. He followed the Wolfpack growing up. “That’s the #1 school right now. I went to their junior day and I was one of the two people who had a chance to talk to coach Amato face to face. They like my speed and my ball skills. They classify me as a deep threat. They’re saying I could maybe start for them as a true freshman.”
