Epps Draws Major Offers

At the Nike camp in Penn State in April, 6-4, 227-pound Huguenot (Richmond, VA) star Dedrick Epps posted a 4.59 time in the 40-yard dash, a 4.22 time in the 20-yard shuttle and a vertical leap of 32 inches. His combination of size and athleticism make him an excellent tight end prospect who has received heavy Division 1-A attention, including written offers.

“I know there’s Michigan, Florida, Tennessee, UVa, Georgia and LSU are some,” Epps replied when asked to name some of the schools that have officially offered. “I think South Carolina has offered also.”

More schools have offered officially according to Huguenot head coach Richard McFee, who says Penn State, UNC and Ohio State are among the schools that have extended written offers as well.

Epps caught 15 passes for 233 yards last season as a junior, earning Richmond Times-Dispatch honorable mention all-metro honors for his performance. He plays middle linebacker on defense, but tight end appears to be the primary position he is being recruited to play. And tight end is the position he wants to play.
