Cavs Eyeing NT Chapman

Asa Chapman moved to the state of Virginia a year and a half ago. The move certainly was good news to Orange County High School head football coach John Kayajanian, who calls Chapman “a gift to us.

“He’s a big kid who can run. You don’t get many kids who are 6-5, 340, and can run. At first I thought he’d be a college offensive lineman, but he’s fast enough to play the defensive line. A kid that big who can run sideline to sideline is definitely a prospect. He’s a big asset to our program.”

At defensive tackle and offensive lineman, Chapman helped Orange to an 8-1 record last season. As a junior last season he earned second-team all-region honors at defensive tackle, which is the position he wants to play on the next level.

“I love defense,” said Chapman, who plays in a 5-2 defense for Orange. “I’ve always loved defense. I take no prisoners out on the field.”
