New Jersey’s Top OL Talks Recruiting

6-4, 280-pound Lou Eliades is the top offensive line recruit in the state of New Jersey, as evidenced by the 19 scholarship offers he has received. The Ocean Township (Oakhurst, N.J.) star saw his offer list skyrocket from four to 19 throughout the month of May, including one that surprised him quite a bit.

“Actually, Miami offered me the day of the Elite combine, which was May 4th,” Eliades said. “I wasn’t expecting it at all. They just kind of showed up at the school and asked ‘what would you do if we had an offer for you?’ They offered and I couldn’t believe it.”

In addition to the Hurricanes, Eliades has offers from programs such as Florida, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others. This summer, Lou plans to make several more unofficial visits in addition to the ones he has made already. Those will be to the “local” schools, or the schools close enough to drive to. He hopes to take official visits to programs he can’t visit this summer.

“I’ll try and narrow it down among the local schools – like the ones I’ve already visited,” Eliades said. “I’ve already visited Rutgers, Syracuse, UVa, Penn State, I’m going to visit Maryland next Tuesday, I’m going to U-Conn probably sometime next weekend. I’m actually going to the senior camp at Virginia Tech on July 9th. I’m going to go down there the day before to checking everything out and then just participate in the camp. I’ll probably narrow down which schools I like and then for the official visits I’ll narrow those down after I take ‘em. I plan on taking official visits to schools like Tennessee or places like that, that are way out there.”
