Virginia is one of over 20 Division 1A programs to officially offer 6-7, 270-pound jumbo athlete Bruce Campbell , a star for Hyde Leadership in New Haven, Connecticut. Right now, six schools stand out among the group although don’t expect a decision any time soon.

“I’ve got a top six,” Campbell said. “There’s Maryland, Virginia, Nebraska, Michigan State, Penn State and Florida. All have offered except Florida. They’re all about the same.”

Campbell says he enjoys the recruiting scene, but the priority right now is to prepare for his senior season. As a junior last season, he earned Class S all-state honors and first-team all-conference at offensive tackle. Very strong, he has a max bench of 345 pounds. Very athletic as well, Campbell ran the 40-yard dash in 4.87 seconds earlier this year and throws the shotput in track.
