TheSabre.com caught up with West Deptford High School star Kordell Young , who committed to the ‘Hoos on July 17th. Young, who was recruited by Mike Groh, plays running back and cornerback for West Deptford. He rushed for 1,251 yards and 22 touchdowns last season as a junior, averaging 11.5 yards per carry. He earned all-South Jersey and all-conference honors for his performance.

In the classroom, Young carries a 3.0 grade point average and is on track to qualify. The 12th commitment in UVa’s 2006 recruiting class, he chose the Cavs over Penn State, Boston College, Pitt, Rutgers, Maryland, Syracuse and Illinois.
