Seton Hall, Virginia and West Virginia are the three schools to offer 6-8, 210-pound wing forward Wellington Smith . Smith, who helped Summit High School (N.J.) to back-to-back state championship game appearances in 2004 and 2005, is now attending Blair Academy, one of the nation’s finest prep basketball programs.

“Wellington has a high skill level,” Blair Academy head coach Joe Mantegna said. “He can shoot and he can pass. He’s 6-8 and he’s very athletic. He has not played against good competition, so his upside is bigger than other prospects. He has so much ceiling. He’s raw in the sense that he doesn’t know how to play the game, but his skills are great. He’s a real polished player.”

As a senior last season, Smith averaged 20 points and 11 boards. He qualified academically out of high school, but decided to prep in order to become more consistent academically and athletically.
