Phoebus (Hampton, VA) linebacker Matt Wright made an official visit to the University of Maryland last weekend. The trip was the first of five scheduled officials for one of the top linebackers in the state of Virginia.

“I’ve got to give it to Maryland,” said Wright, who was making his first ever visit there. “I’m not holding anything back. I’ve got to give them a 10. Before I came I thought it would be an 8 1/2 or something like that, but the academics and everything and the way Maryland came off was great. They have a bright future and a lot of young talent. I got to hang out with a lot of the guys. They were all just cool. I thought it would be tough to get to know them because that’s how it is when you first meet someone, but it wasn’t like that at all.”

Wright also enjoyed talking to the coaches.
