Dennis Godfrey ’s stock rose significantly during the Shrine Bowl week. The Lee County High School standout, who committed to Wake Forest in June of this year, picked up a handful of scholarship offers due to his performance. According to Lee County head coach Jody Stouffer, East Carolina, North Carolina, N.C. State, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Virginia Tech coaches have offered or have said they plan to offer his talented prospect.

“I think the thing about Dennis is that he’s a great person,” Stouffer said. “I’ve never heard of a person coming away from a conversation with him and not liking him. He’s that type of kid. He has great leadership qualities and he is what you look for in terms of someone with talent and great morals. If all of my kids were like him, I’d be set.”

Godfrey is 6-3 and weighs about 240 pounds right now, down from 255 earlier this year. He played tight end and was the starting 9 technique defensive end as well.
