Virginia is one of several schools to have offered Matt Leemhuis , a 6-1 1/2, 192-pound safety prospect out of Winston Churchill in Bethesda, Maryland. The Washington Post second-team all-metro selection has interest in Virginia as well, but may make a decision before he takes an official visit to Charlottesville.

This past weekend, Leemhuis took an official visit to Cal.

“It went very well,” Leemhuis said of the Cal experience. In addition to Cal and UVa, he has been offered by Central Florida, Indiana and Temple. “It was my first time on the west coast, but I liked it a lot. I had dinner at the coach’s house on Friday night. Over the weekend, I took a tour of the campus and listened to some academic presentations. Saturday, I went to a basketball game and we went to San Francisco for dinner. The campus is really good – it’s on a mountain and you can look down on San Francisco from it. It was cool. I went out with the players too.”
