Overlea’s (Baltimore, MD) varsity football squad went 8-2 during the regular season this year and finished 9-3 overall, including an appearance in the regional championship game. 6-1, 200-pound Raynard Horne , who was earned first-team all-Baltimore County and second-team Baltimore Sun all-metro honors for his senior year performance, was a big part of Overlea’s success.

“He was a workhorse,” Overlea Head Coach Keith Robinson said of Horne. “He had 1100 yards rushing and scored 24 touchdowns. We actually had two good backs – Raynard and Gene Knight – who complemented each other well. Ray is a bruiser, whereas Gene is more shifty. If Ray gets the corner, typically he was gone. He had a lot of long touchdowns. If Ray sees a seam, he’s going full speed. He’ll either run over you or run by you.”

Horne, who has excellent speed at sub 4.5 in the 40, has versatility out of the backfield as well. He caught 15 passes including three touchdowns.
