When Jack Shields arrived home on Sunday, he had received a call from Boston College. But, at that time, it was too late. He had already committed to UVa, becoming the 24th overall commitment in UVa’s 2006 recruiting class. We caught up with Shields for further comments on his decision.

“It feels great,” Shields said of having his decision made.

Shields chose UVa over offers from Connecticut and Vanderbilt, among others. He made an official visit to Vanderbilt on the weekend of January 13th and was impressed, but realized on his official to Virginia that he wanted to be a Cavalier.
