6-5, 305-pound Hylton (Woodbridge, VA) standout offensive lineman William Alvarez is starting to garner more and more out-of-state attention according to head coach Lou Sorrentino. But the local schools – Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech – are certainly doing a good job early of showing interest. All three have offered scholarships.

“All of the schools involved have been positive, especially the local schools,” Sorrentino said. “They are the three closest schools and those three have done a good job of showing interest. I know he likes the local schools and they like him. He’s just starting to receive more national interest. I’ve been playing phone tag with Florida recently.”

This spring, Alvarez, who recently added an official offer from Temple, plans on making several unofficial visits to schools for spring practice. Is there a chance he could decide early after taking these trips?
