State College (PA) LB Nathan Stupar wasn’t the only top UVa inside linebacker target in attendance at spring practice on Saturday. 6-1, 245-pound Teaneck (N.J.) star Randy Martinez , whose stock seems to be rising as the spring goes on, was there as well and enjoyed his first-ever experience in Charlottesville.

Martinez made the trip with his father.

“Even though the weather was bad, I had a real nice time,” Martinez said of the experience. “We were a little late, so we didn’t arrive until the middle of practice. It was a high-flying, up-tempo practice so it was fun. We went inside after the practice was over and I had a chance to converse with the coaches and the head coach, Al Groh. Coach Groh just told me he wants the right guys in his program and he wants me to come back to check out the campus sometime. We didn’t have a chance to do that this time.”
