Staton Jobe has his chance and he’s looking to make the best of it. The Westlake (Austin, TX) senior wanted the chance to play for the University of Virginia and earned a spot as a recruited walk-on. He plans to work hard and hopes to show anyone who doubted his ability to play on the 1A level that he can indeed make it.

“I’m really excited,” Jobe said of going to UVa as a recruited walk-on. “It’s a great school and I feel it’s a blessing for me to go there. Ever since I’ve been making my list for colleges, Virginia has kind of been there on top. We’ve recently had some family friends graduate from there and they both loved the school. And Virginia has a great reputation for academics here in Texas. If you tell someone you’re going to UVa, they’re like ‘wow’.

“I’m excited and I’m going to show ‘em what I can do.”
