4-star guard Jeff Jones returned to the University of Virginia last week. Jones, who was accompanied by his father, toured a finished John Paul Jones arena and sat down with head coach Dave Leitao and staff, who he says “laid out” why he should join the University of Virginia basketball program.

“I just went last week,” Jones said of the visit to UVa. “They showed me the new facility. It’s finished now. Who wouldn’t want to play there? I sat with coach Dave Leitao and with his staff. They told me what the situation was. They told me the ins and outs of the programs. They told me they are in a situation where they are losing J.R. Reynolds after this year and there is a possibility they could lose Sean Singletary to the NBA after this year. They need a guy who can play the one or the two, just like J.R. did. They need someone to replace him and they feel I fit the program.”

The Monsignor Bonner (Drexel Hill, PA) star was impressed with Leitao’s pitch.
