5-star defensive tackle prospect Marvin Austin, rated the #1 overall player in the country by Scout.com and the #2 overall player by Rivals.com, was on UVa’s grounds this past Sunday to see a preseason practice. UVa is one of ten programs vying for five official visit spots from the 6-3, 300-pound star. How was the practice experience?

“He liked it a lot,” Ballou assistant head coach Todd Amis said. “He met with all the coaches including coach Groh and coach London. He watched the defensive linemen for the most part. He stayed for the whole practice and really enjoyed it.”

Austin’s relationship with defensive coordinator Mike London is a big key for UVa.
