Last month, Dontrelle Inman made an unofficial visit to the University of Virginia. The 6-2 1/2, 185-pound Batesburg-Leesville (S.C.) WR/DB standout came away from the experience extremely impressed with his conversation with Head Coach Al Groh…a conversation that helped lift UVa to the top of his list right now.

“I went there just to meet Coach Groh,” Inman said. He made the trip with a few coaches. “It was beautiful. That was the best head coach I’ve talked to. We sat in his office and talked for a minute. He said that every coach will ask if I have any questions. Most of the time, the player says nothing. He said to me that there is one question I should have for him, and that’s ‘Why do you want me?’. He went to his desk and got a stack of papers. He listed a whole bunch of things I did that they liked about me. He evaluated me. That inspired me because I’ve never had a coach say something like that to me before.”

Inman says he is down to five schools – Auburn, Georgia Tech, Maryland, South Carolina and Virginia. He claims scholarship offers from all five programs (and said he was offered by Groh in person on his visit). Asked if he had a favorite or favorites among the five, he quickly named one school.
