Phoebus offensive guard/defensive tackle Maurice Hampton claims offers from four ACC programs – Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech – and one SEC program – South Carolina. Among these and the other programs that have offered, the Tidewater star lists three current favorites.

“Right now, I have three main schools. They are the ones keeping in main contact with me and showing the most interest in me,” Hampton said. “There is Maryland, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. They’re contacting me, sending me a whole bunch of posters and mail. I just get mail nonstop from them everyday.”

Hampton says he has not received too many phone calls in September as a result of Phoebus Head Coach Bill Dee requesting that coaches hold off on their recruitment until the end of Hampton’s senior season. Besides the programs listed above, some other programs have started showing interest via mail.
