Al Groh and company landed their 20th commitment for the 2007 class today, when Zane Parr , a 6-5, 285-pound defensive line prospect out of Williamsport Area High School (PA), pledged to the ‘Hoos. Parr chose UVa over offers from Connecticut and Temple and serious interest from Michigan and Michigan State.

“I committed around one o’clock in the afternoon today,” Parr said.

Since the summer, Parr has had Michigan and UVa as his two favorites. Michigan coaches had been eyeing him as well, but indicated earlier this month that there were other prospects higher on their board. That gave UVa the firm edge in this race and the staff made the most of its opportunity.
