A native of Poland, Tomasz Kwiatkowski moved to the United States earlier this year to enroll at Lee Academy in Maine. A 7-0 center prospect, Kwiatkowski, who has only played basketball since he was “12 or 13 years old” according to Lee Academy Head Coach Carl Parker, has earned the attention of a handful of Division 1A programs. UVa is heavily in the mix and will get an official visit next weekend.

“He’s relatively new to the game,” Parker said of Kwiatkowski. “His parents were runners, so he has some background of athletics in his family. He played soccer a lot as a kid, which may be the reason why his footwork is pretty good compared to some seven footers in America. His feet and hands are already there.”

Size is certainly one of the strengths for Kwiatkowski, who has been adjusting to the American style of basketball.
