Right now, 6-8, 255-pound defensive end Matt Conrath is focused solely on his senior season. St. Rita (Chicago, IL), which went 8-1 in the regular season, has captured sound victories in rounds one and two of the Class 7A playoffs. This week it faces off against Morgan Park in the 7A quarterfinal, the round in which St. Rita fell last season.

“Our offense is playing really good,” Conrath said of his team, which scored 45 and 49 points, respectively, in the opening two rounds of the playoffs. “And our defense has been really solid all year.”

Conrath, who only plays defensive end (but is a back-up at offensive tackle if an injury occurs), has turned in an excellent senior season.
