Two Top Juniors Plan to Visit UVa

Two of the top junior prospects on the East coast plan to be in Charlottesville on February 24th, which is a junior day for UVa’s football program. Both prospects hail from Gateway High School, one of the top programs in the state of Pennsylvania.

The prospects in question are 6-3, 220-pound linebacker Cameron Saddler .

“Shayne is a big, strong, athletic, tough kid,” Gateway (Monroeville, PA) head coach Terry Smith said. “He loves to play the game of football. He trains very hard in the off-season. He’s a terrific kid off the field and on the field. He’s a good student. He is also the leader of our defense. He plays the Mike linebacker position for us…the middle linebacker position. He probably will play outside linebacker in college. He could rush off the edge and drop into coverage and that’s pretty much what all the schools are looking at him for. He is so fast and athletic, he can do just about anything we ask.

“Cameron is very explosive. He’s a 4.3 kid. He’s very fast. He is electrifying with the ball in his hands. He’s very shifty, very elusive. One of the best traits about him is his leadership ability. He was selected captain as a junior last season. He is the heart and soul of our team. As Cameron goes, so goes Gateway.”
