Manasquan High School’s (N.J.) varsity football team went 12-0 last season, capturing the South Group 2 Championship in the process. Part of the team’s success was certainly the defense – the unit didn’t allow double-digit points the entire season – and another part was the dominating performance of the offensive line. One of the key juniors along the line is 6-8, 305-pound offensive tackle Art Forst , who is also a UVa target.

Forst, who has been offered by Boston College, Duke, Northwestern, Rutgers and Virginia, certainly has the size for the next level. Asked what else has drawn college coaches his way, he replied, “I don’t quit. I like to hit people. [Manasquan assistant] coach Reed has done a fantastic job of giving me the desire to become better. I stay on people and have done that since my sophomore year, when I was very raw. I also just enjoy competing. College coaches have told me my toughness and drive shows on film. For my size, I’m fairly strong. I have over a 300-pound bench press. I can squat over 400 pounds.”

Besides the schools that have offered, Forst has been in contact with Clemson, Notre Dame and Penn State and says “I think one of those schools will offer in the future.”
