5-11, 200-pound defensive back Devin Wallace has played for Friendly High School’s (Fort Washington, MD) varsity football squad since the 10th grade. He helped Friendly capture a state championship in his junior season and is looking to lead the Patriots to back-to-back state titles in this his senior season. Next year, he plans to wear the orange and blue of the University of Virginia.

Wallace, who committed to UVa following Virginia’s Elite Junior Day in June (and may return this month for his official visit), is being recruited by the Cavs initially as a cornerback. Physically, he is a specimen. He is extremely strong and he can run. He does a little bit of everything for Friendly, especially on the defensive end. Wallace tallied 80 tackles in his junior season is in the top two on the team in tackles this season…more importantly, Friendly is off to a 4-0 start and the defense has yielded a total of 24 points.

Friendly offensive coordinator Marcus Berry took some time to discuss Wallace’s career at Friendly and his future at the University of Virginia.
