Plant (Tampa, FL) wide receiver Derek Winter is returning home this afternoon from an official visit to the University of Virginia. The 6-1, 190-pound standout, a Florida Sports Writers Association Class 4A first-team all-state selection, plans to make a decision between Auburn and Virginia as early as this evening. Was the experience in Charlottesville enough to sway the talented prospect?

Winter didn’t let on to the school’s identity, but he did admit that he is leaning to one school over the other.

“I think I have a little bit of an idea of where I’m going, but I need to talk it out more,” Winter said. “I think I’ll probably know where I’m going by tonight or tomorrow.”
