Chalk up another 2009 class commitment for head coach Al Groh and company. This time, the commitment came from outside the state of Virginia, with the staff coming away with a pledge from Good Counsel (Wheaton, MD) running back/athlete Caleb Porzel, who chose the Cavaliers two days after attending the February 24th junior day.

“He committed to Virginia yesterday from my understanding,” confirmed one of Porzel’s coach’s, who called the talented prospect a “Noel Devine/Trindon Holliday type of player.”

“He liked Coach Poindexter and Virginia’s family-oriented environment. He felt Virginia was a lot like Good Counsel. He went up there for the junior day. His dad went with him and talked to the academic people. He loved it.”
