The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.) defensive end recruit Anthony LaLota learned a lot about the University of Virginia’s academics on his February 24th junior day visit earlier. On that trip, he spoke with a professor from Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and came away very impressed. He returned to Charlottesville this past Saturday in what he felt was a chance to get to know more about the football program.
LaLota, a 6-5, 256-pound junior, offered his impressions on the experience. He arrived early Saturday and left Sunday morning.
“I had a chance to speak to Coach [Al] Groh for a while,” LaLota said. “I like the direction of the program. I really enjoy speaking with him. I also spoke with Coach Belin for a while. We watched tape of spring practice and he gave me a couple of pointers. I really like him also. They had their scrimmage yesterday and I thought they looked pretty good. Coach Groh was telling me they need one more pass rusher to come in. I thought the defense looked pretty good overall. I had a good time.”
