When Brent Urban was in the 10th grade, he played on a top youth hockey team in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. But, that year, he would decide to give up playing hockey to focus his efforts on football at Lorne Park Secondary School (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada). The move proved beneficial for the 6-7, 260-pound defensive end prospect, who now boasts five Division 1A scholarship offers as his 11th grade year comes to an end.

Urban truly came onto the 2009 class recruiting scene last spring, when he attended a Nike Camp at Penn State. He performed well, proving to himself that he had the potential and ability to be a Division 1A college player.

“The first time I came down to the states to participate in a combine and realizing I had the skills to make it,” Urban said of when he first thought he could be a Division 1A college recruit. “I thought my skills compared easily with other players from the U.S. My first camp was the Penn State Nike Camp last year. There were a ton of great players there. There were a lot of top guys, but I felt I did pretty well. I went against good lineman and did well.”
