Simpson Talks UVa Camp, Recruiting Process

Henry Clay (Lexington, KY) offensive lineman Samuel Simpson did attend Virginia’s summer camp as previously scheduled. The 6-5, 285-pound center prospect, one of the top rising seniors in the state of Kentucky, reflected on his most recent trip to Charlottesville and also discussed where his decision-making process may go from here.

“I talked to Coach Borbely and Coach Groh and they said they really want me,” said Simpson, who had been to Virginia on three previous occasions including last summer’s camp. “They told me just to keep working hard.”

Asked if the latest trip to Charlottesville either improved or diminished Virginia’s chances in this race, Simpson replied, “It didn’t diminish anything. It kind of replaced all the stuff I knew about Virginia. Having another chance to get down there before I narrow things down was really what the trip was for.
