In a true “throw the cub in the fire” moment, true freshman punter Jimmy Howell will attempt to sky his first collegiate punt against USC on Aug. 30 with 60,000+ watching closely.

Maybe then it will have finally hit him that he’s here. Hopefully, not literally. As of now, the young punter is for the most part unfazed by the challenge ahead of him.

“I always thought going to different high school games was a whole lot of fun but now I probably don’t even know what to expect,” said Howell of playing USC. “I’m going to expect something fun.”
