Regarding the USC offense Pete Carroll regularly states, “We are a balanced pro style offense employing multiple formations, motion, and personnel groupings”. Simple right? Maybe, but stopping it is another matter.

Recently Southern California has been noted for flashy quarterbacks (Matt Leinart and Carson Palmer for example) but the running game still drives Pete Carroll’s offense. The Trojans have ranked among the top 30 rushing teams in the nation three times in the last four years; over that span, they have averaged an impressive 5.1 yards per carry.
