Wallace Showing Talent, Leadership in 2008

Moorestown (N.J.) offensive lineman Cody Wallace enjoyed success his sophomore and junior seasons, playing very well on a talented an experienced offensive line. This season has taken on a different dynamic, however, as the 6-5, 265-pound Virginia commitment has had to take on more of a leadership role as a senior and the team’s most experienced offensive lineman.

“Leadership-wise, the guards and center were seniors last year and almost all of them had started since sophomore year,” Moorestown head coach Russ Horton said. “They made the line calls and fixed problems during the game. Cody didn’t have to do that. Now he has taken that role. He has taken younger guys and worked with them to make them better. When the coaches are frustrated, Cody steps up and says he will work with those guys.”

Moorestown only returned six starters from last years Central Jersey, Group 3 championship team. Wallace, a starter at offensive tackle and defensive end, has emerged as one of the top players on the 2008 squad.
