Fork Union Military Academy offensive tackle Mark Shuman is proving to be one of the most coveted juniors in the state of Virginia. The 6-6, 270-pound prospect boasted seven official scholarship offers in September and has since continued to enjoy success on the recruiting trail.

“He has picked up a few more offers. And he just got an invitation to the Under Armour Bowl,” said Fork Union postgraduate head coach John Shuman, who is Mark’s father. “People are coming in. Georgia came in. Tennessee was here. Every time we go to Virginia Tech, he is on the prospect list and gets to go out to midfield. California is sniffing around. His stock is continuing to rise. Things are going on, but we shelved him as far as the football stuff is concerned. He is playing basketball. We told him to have fun and relax, so he is on the basketball court.”

Mark has added at least two offers – both from the ACC – since September. Duke, Georgia, North Carolina, Rutgers, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech had offered previously.
