Camden (N.J.) wide receiver Tyree Watkins will be in Charlottesville on Friday, beginning an official visit to the University of Virginia. This will be the 6-2, 180-pound senior’s first official visit of the recruiting process and it will be an important one, as Virginia is hoping to solidify Watkins as part of its 2009 recruiting class.

Watkins, who committed to the Cavaliers last June but may take an official visit to another school, may firm up his original commitment after the weekend…it all depends on how the experience goes.

“I’m going down with my mom this weekend,” Watkins said. “If she is comfortable and I’m comfortable, if everything goes well, I might decide [to end his recruitment]. Right now, I’ll just say I’m undecided. I don’t want to say something will happen and then it doesn’t happen, so I’ll take the visit and go from there. It could go either way.”
