On Signing Day 2009, head coach Al Groh discussed the versatility many of Virginia’s incoming recruits possess. Looking to 2010, Central York (York, PA) junior Kyle Baublitz certainly fits the versatility bill as a 6-5, 250-pound middle linebacker and tight end that has potential at a number of positions on the college level.

So far, depending on the school, Baublitz is being recruited either as a tight end, defensive end, Will linebacker or offensive tackle.

“Kyle is the most athletic big man who has played for me during my tenure,” Central York head coach Brad Livingston said. “He runs well, has excellent flexibility, and he can bend his knees. His athleticism is superior to most of the smaller kids around him. Kyle has started every game since his freshman year. He has been our starting middle linebacker and leading tackler each season. As a freshman Kyle started defensively and played tight end on about half of our offensive snaps. During Kyle’s sophomore and junior years he was a two way starter on a two platoon team. Kyle has also led the team in blocked punts each year and has played on a couple of special teams. He is also a devastating blocker offensively. Kyle is a big target to throw to.”
