Two weeks prior to his teammate, quarterback Andrew Hendrix , earning an offer from the University of Virginia, 6-3, 220-pound linebacker/defensive end prospect Marcus Rush was in Charlottesville picking up an offer from head coach Al Groh. The Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, OH) standout junior, who amassed 82 total tackles including 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks last season, had positive things to say about his time in Charlottesville.

“I was very impressed,” said Rush, who had never visited Virginia before the February 14th prospect day. “I was impressed with the facilities. Everything there was first class. The coaching staff is first class. The campus was just beautiful. I could just tell there is a lot of history behind that school.”

UVa was the second school to offer Rush, who was offered initially by the University of Cincinnati. Indiana, Minnesota, N.C. State and Ohio have since followed suit with more offers likely on the way soon. Michigan, Northwestern, Tennessee and Vanderbilt have all expressed serious interest and Rush plans to visit each one of those programs, starting with a trip to Northwestern this weekend.
