Woodberry Forest (VA) safety Ed Reynolds II , a rising senior Woodberry head coach Clint Alexander calls a “special player,” has received official offers from Stanford and Virginia and is drawing serious interest from Auburn, Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, Miami, Michigan State, North Carolina and Rutgers. Reynolds’ father played linebacker for the University of Virginia in the early ’80s, but will that be a big factor with the 6-3, 195-pound prospect?

“Because of my dad being alumni, I’ve been around UVa a lot. I’ve been around UVa since I was a toddler,” Reynolds answered. “I’ve gotten to know the place. I’ve become accustomed to it and know it really well. One thing my dad made sure of was he didn’t want to push me one way or the other. Me being a Cavalier wouldn’t be a bad thing for him, but he wants me to find the right place for me. Me being around it so much and being so familiar with it is pretty much the only advantage for UVa.”

Reynolds, who attended several UVa football games last fall, gave his impression of his father’s alma mater.
