Charlotte Christian (N.C.) rising senior Ty Linton has a bright future in football and baseball. With the latter, being selected in the Major League Baseball draft is a possibility, but for now the 6-2 1/2, 210-pound prospect fully intends to experience the college life.

“I’m really planning on going on to college,” said Linton, who plays center field in baseball and is a linebacker/running back in football. “If I’m drafted it would have to be a large sum of money, an amount of money I can’t really walk away from. I’m planning on going to college.”

Linton plans to play football and baseball in college, so he’ll sign a letter of intent for a football scholarship next February. He arrived at Charlotte Christian in 2007 and as a sophomore earned NCISAA first-team all-state honors at linebacker. Linton was a first-team all-state linebacker again this past season, but his talent doesn’t just lie on the defensive side of the ball. Last season, he led Charlotte Christian in rushing, receiving and scoring.
