South County (Fairfax, VA) safety Andre Simmons has earned six Division 1A offers to date, including Boston College, Illinois, Maryland, Northwestern, Virginia and West Virginia. The 6-0, 195-pound rising senior has already visited each of the programs except for West Virginia, a program he plans to visit in early June. South County head coach Pete Bendorf provided the latest, including when Simmons may narrow the list of options.

“He has been fortunate to be able to get out and go to schools,” Bendorf said. “He has been on campuses and met coaches and players. I think once this month is done he’ll sit down and map some things out and maybe narrow his choices down. I think he’ll take time in June and July to visit places again. And then I think he’ll make a decision.

“My sense is that he’ll probably narrow it down to three or four in the next couple of weeks and then try to get out to those schools in June and July. I’m not 100-percent sure, but I think he’ll likely decide before the summer is out.”
