Rising senior quarterback Stephen Morris didn’t enjoy immediate success on the Monsignor Pace (Miami, FL) varsity football squad. He played on the junior varsity as a freshman and didn’t play much on the varsity level as a sophomore. But with hard work, Morris, now 6-2 1/2, 190 pounds, won the starting signal caller position in 2008 and led his team to an 11-3 record that included a regional championship title.

An athletic prospect with dual-threat capabilities, Morris showed off his skills as a passer last season, completing 64-percent of his passes while throwing for 2,005 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

“My sophomore season was my first full year on the varsity. I wasn’t playing as much and people didn’t believe I could do it,” said Morris. “People doubted me, but I worked hard, prayed, worked with my coaches, got better and got the starting job. I did a lot of great things my junior season. I prayed a lot and played well. Hopefully, I can keep it going.”
