Cobb Talks Don Bosco, UVa

Ryan Cobb ‘s recruiting card

Ryan Cobb didn’t know a whole lot about Don Bosco Prep’s (Ramsey, N.J.) stellar football program prior to attending Don Bosco’s football camp the summer before his freshman year. Cobb performed well at the event, catching the attention of Ironmen head coach Greg Toal. A 4-year player on the varsity level and University of Virginia commitment, the 6-1, 220-pound senior is thankful for his experience at Don Bosco.

“From a football standpoint, playing on the varsity level since my freshman year, I’ve been fortunate to play in some big games,” said Cobb. “I know the atmosphere will be a lot different in college, but from a mental standpoint I think the toughness I’ve gained by playing for Don Bosco will be a big help.”

Currently ranked second in the nation in USA Today’s Super 25, the Ironmen are 3-0 on the season and primed for a state championship run. Cobb’s future team hasn’t been so fortunate in 2009, but the standout senior remains confident in Al Groh’s program.
