LB Coley A Big Part Of Team’s Success

Henry Coley ‘s recruiting card

Linebacker Henry Coley has been a force in the Bayside (Virginia Beach, VA) defense for four years, contributing as a freshman in 2006. So it’s not surprise that the 6-2, 220-pound senior, a Virginia recruit, has been right in the middle – literally and figuratively – of the Marlins’ 6-0 record in 2009.

“It means a lot. Everybody wants to go out with a bang. They want to be remembered for something,” Coley said. “I feel like we were good coming into the season, but we didn’t believe in ourselves. We won the first game and we’ve been living off the confidence since.”

Seeing action on both sides of the ball, Coley has racked up 52 tackles and is averaging 20 yards per catch. He prefers defense, which is where he mans the middle linebacker spot for head coach Darnell Moore. He is being pursued by Virginia to play an inside linebacker spot.
